Like other writers, I’ve been influenced by a number of great novels. Below are some of the novels that inspired me, and ones that are similar to The Price of Safety and The Price of Rebellion:
The proletarian state, the oppression, the desire to break free and experience love—these were and still are powerful themes. A masterpiece that is as relevant today as when it was published after the end of the Second World War.
One of the most inventive story ideas I’ve read in some time. Smart, gripping, and highly entertaining. Although it’s not the same type of story as The Price of Safety, it inspired me in terms of writing a clever, engaging novel.
The dependence on technology, the way it permeates the main character’s livelihood, was an influence in The Price of Safety.
I could have listed more of Michael Crichton's novels, actually. He was one of the kings of techno-thrillers.
